I'm continuing my series of honest stories. In my last post, I shared why I decided to give the platform a shot and how my editing skills helped me with content. Now for the juicy part: here’s what really happened during my first month, no sugarcoating.
Expectation vs. Reality
Before I started, I dove into all sorts of stories online—everything from "I made enough for a new phone in a week" to "it’s a total scam, don’t even bother." As usual, the reality was somewhere in between.
What Turned Out to Be True?
The flexibility is real. I could genuinely work on this whenever it suited me, with no fixed schedule.
The low barrier to entry is also true. You can get started with just your phone, no initial investment or special skills required.
The pay-per-confirmed-view model is transparent. The mechanics are straightforward: you get views, you get paid. There were no hidden terms I wasn't aware of beforehand.
What Was an Exaggeration?
"Making money instantly" is a myth. My first few weeks were spent just figuring out what kind of content actually resonates.
"It’s effortless" isn't quite right either. It doesn’t demand physical labor, but it does require engagement: you have to experiment, analyze, and refine your approach.
There are no universal numbers. Everyone I talked to in the comments on my previous articles had different results in their first month—sometimes drastically so.
My Three Main Takeaways:
- Treat it as an ongoing experiment, not a "get-rich-quick" button.
- Don't compare yourself to the success stories you see online. People share their highlight reels, not their average months.
- Start with what you already know (in my case, video editing) instead of trying to master everything at once.
